- As monarch, Spork got clarification about several things at the Circle of Monarchs meeting and wants to speak about some upcoming things for the kingdom.
- Golden Plains does have to register as a non-profit according to our contract with Amtgard International.
- Board training will be annual - the BoD will be holding the legal and financial responsibility for the kingdom and it’s mostly been a “check it off of the list” position for several years. But BoD will need to step up into a more serious role going forward, hence the training. Having board members who are knowledgeable and trained will be very important for protecting both the board members and the kingdom from potential legal issues.
- Board insurance AKA directors and officers insurance is going to be another thing that we will have to have in the event Golden Plains or board members are ever sued. It’s rather expensive, but Spork is currently looking into quotes.
- Each of our parks currently holds its own funds. The BoD is working to make sure that the parks will still have access to their money and have a high degree of autonomy while ensuring that all of the money is all accounted for and being handle appropriately. Which is to say, the BoD is looking at methods for codifying ways for parks to no longer have bank account liability be on local parks with individual members who currently hold bank accounts for their fields. In the next 6 to 12 months, there will be some changes in regard to how kingdom looks at field finances.
- Benji asked how other kingdoms are handling money for their local parks.

- Amtgard International doesn’t offer guidance or training to kingdoms for how they should comply with Amtgard International requirements, which creates many problems for pretty much every kingdom who actually wishes to be in compliance.
